About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MODAME APP PTY LTD (MODAME, we, us or our) handles personal information when you use the MODAME website, applications and related services. Your wardrobe is personal, and MODAME is built as if that were true.

Information we collect

We may collect information you provide, information created through your use of MODAME, and limited technical information from your device. This can include your account and profile details, wardrobe content, style preferences, interactions with recommendations, communications with us, and service usage data.

Account and authentication information

When you create or use an account, we may collect your email address, name, profile details and account settings. If you sign in through Google or another authentication provider, we receive the basic account information that provider makes available with your permission, such as your name, email address and a provider-specific account identifier. We do not receive your provider password.

Wardrobe images and uploaded content

We collect the photographs, garment details, notes and other content you choose to add. Wardrobe images may be processed to separate a garment from its background and identify useful attributes such as category, colour, material and fit. Original and processed assets are kept private to your account. They are not published, shared with other members or used in marketing without your explicit permission.

Style, preference and context data

We collect the preferences and context you choose to give us, such as style direction, sizes, routines, occasions and feedback. We also learn from product interactions such as looks you save or skip, corrections you make, and items you wear. Optional calendar information may support occasion planning, and optional location or weather context may support suitable recommendations.

Permissions and connected services

Camera access is used to add items. Calendar and location access are optional and used only for the features you enable, such as occasion planning and weather-aware styling. You can change device permissions at any time. Where a connected service offers its own controls, you can also disconnect MODAME through that service or your account settings.

Technical and analytics data

On this website we use Vercel Web Analytics to understand visits and page usage, Vercel Speed Insights to measure performance and Core Web Vitals, and Google Analytics to understand traffic sources, page journeys and launch-list conversion. These services may process page URLs, referring site, campaign tags, event timestamps, browser, device and operating-system information, approximate region derived from network information, and technical performance data. We do not send your launch-list email, name, contact message or other form text to these analytics services, and we do not use this Phase 1 analytics setup to build advertising audiences or sell personal information.

How we use information

We use personal information to create and manage accounts; build and organise your digital wardrobe; provide outfit, planning and style features; personalise and explain recommendations; respond to requests; maintain safety and security; diagnose faults; analyse and improve the service; communicate service or policy changes; and comply with legal obligations. We use information only where reasonably necessary for these purposes or with your consent where consent is required.

AI processing and model training

MODAME uses automated and AI-supported processing to analyse uploaded garments, organise wardrobe information, and generate styling suggestions and explanations. This processing may involve specialist service providers acting for us. Your wardrobe images, wear history and style profile are not used to train shared models that serve other people. General product improvements may use aggregated or de-identified patterns that are not intended to identify you.

Service providers and disclosure

We may share only the information needed with providers that help us deliver MODAME, including Vercel for website hosting, Web Analytics and Speed Insights, Google for Google Analytics, and managed data-storage providers for launch-list and contact submissions. They process information to provide services to us, subject to their applicable terms and safeguards. Other provider categories may include authentication, customer support, communications, security, payment, image-processing and AI services as those features are used. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell or rent personal information or disclose launch-list details for unrelated third-party marketing.

International data handling

MODAME is operated from Australia, while providers including Vercel and Google may process or store website and analytics information in the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Privacy protections in those countries may differ from those in Australia. Where information is handled internationally, we take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and contractual, organisational or technical safeguards appropriate to the information and applicable law.

Retention, access and deletion

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, manage early access, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect the service. First-touch campaign tags, the initial landing path and the external referring origin are kept in your browser's session storage for the current browsing journey and submitted with a launch-list registration; session storage normally clears when that browser tab or session ends. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in our Vercel and Google services and their applicable retention practices. You can limit browser storage or analytics using browser controls or content blockers, although some site measurements may then be unavailable. You may contact us to request access, correction or deletion. We take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify information we no longer need, subject to legal, fraud-prevention, security and backup-retention requirements.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your sign-in method and should contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Children and minors

MODAME is not directed to children. If you are under 18, use MODAME only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian where required by law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child without any consent required by applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information can contact us to request its deletion.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as MODAME or applicable law changes. We will publish the updated policy here, revise the date above, and give additional notice before material changes take effect where appropriate. For privacy questions, access, correction, deletion or complaints, email privacy@modame.app or use the contact page. Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies, you may also have the right to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if we cannot resolve your concern.
